Although “Twitter” has been used extensively by researchers, universities, and research institutions in recent years, the platform has changed considerably over the past months. This applies not only to the content and topics published on “X”, but also to the tone of the discourse. An analysis of the situation, as well as a discourse with fellow experts have clearly shown that “X” is losing its significance in science communication.
Paderborn University will therefore no longer actively be using “X”, as of 5 April 2024. Paderborn University's profile will not be deleted, but rather deactivated. A corresponding notice will be placed in the profile description – this will ensure that links and mentions remain functional and that all previously published content is not deleted.
